There's a million different "best of" sites on the net each with its own spin on what constitutes the greatest country song list. Like my pop singles chart, I swerve to the music I grew up with, brings me back to a time and place, songs that were introduced to me by my parents and the ones I played so much while in radio. From this list, you can see that I favored the 90s popular surge of country and that part of the late 80's which often doesn't show up on the classic greatest hits list.Alex J Walling sat me in the control room at broadcast school and insisted I perform a country show and to nickname myself "Tex". At the time, I wasn't too keen on playing country but it was the beginning of a chronic thirst for classic country.
